I always check to see what items are marked down at the bakery.
Day old deals are delightful, if you ask me.
So when we (yes, all the kids were with me) rounded the bakery aisle corner at 8:30pm, and a buggy filled with these deliciously adorned orange stickered boxes screamed....
SPECIAL
(why... yes, I am, thank you...God made me special),
my teen boys grabbed every last little box.
They were giddy...beyond thrilled at the moment that their mother was such a frugal hacker.
Let's do the math.....
12 donuts per box X 4 boxes = a whole lot more donuts than I need.
BUT PICK ME UP OFF THE FLOOR -
for $1.99 per dozen, I'm there!
Forget needing that Hot and Now sign to be on...stick these mouth melting marvels in the microwave for 10 seconds, and they are Hot and Now in your very own home for 1/5 of the original price.

Frugal tip: When I first found this deal back at Thanksgiving, I thought it was just a hit or miss kind of thing at our newly opened store.The next time I went back, I specifically asked when they marked down their donuts.
I needed to make the most of these deals..for the kids...it's all about the kids.
Every night at 7:30 pm, the bakery department marks down the left overs from that day.
My down fall came when hubby found out that little fact...he was bringing them home daily. I have since put a ca bash on that treat!
I implement that same frugal tip with the meat/dairy department...I will share about those steals soon.
So go talk to your baker and eat a Krispy Kreme - think of me. :)

OOO..I love Krispy Kreme! But, this big mama is now on Weight Watchers! So, no more treats for me - for a long time!

I love Krispy Kreme! I have never been able to find a deal like that. I'll certainly be paying more attention.
For years I resisted Krispy Kreme because I was a DD girl but then I actually ate one and it was on then! *smiles* A favorite treat is a large cup of coffee and a chocolate iced with sprinkles, YUM!
We do not have a Krispy Kreme in our small town, but there are several stores that sell them. I just stay away!!

It would be a very bad thing if Ifind out that they mark them down at our grocery store. Oh wait... it's all about the kids right?!

Our Walmart used to sell them. Thank goodness they stopped. Soooooo good! I eat donuts until I'm sick. :p

Oh that's hilarious. And you're right there at Krispy Kreme headquarters! So they must be flowing. Great price. Beats going in to buy full price any day.

We are not a Krispy Kreme family but I am totally a bargain shopper. The first spot I head to at the grocery store is the marked down bakery stuff. Anything for a bargain!

Those look so delicious- yum! We had a grocery store that was so good about marking down, but they shut the store down. Now we have nothing close that does that with the same gusto as the last store. I always check the rack at the back at Walmart though. Great frugal tip!

My eyes have been recently opened to the blissful little orange stickers lately. Our Kroger calls them manager specials. Love them. Next time you find a donut deal you should seriously look up Paula Deen's bread pudding recipe using Krispy Kreme donuts. Oh MY. The sinfulness!
That is a fabulous deal! They used to get Krispy Kreme donuts at our grocery store in town but don't anymore. Also, there used to be a KK in Norman (a little over an hour away) where we would go to the "big" mall occasionally and it closed down.

I love the Krispy Kreme under cloche. New decorating style. You can stick her with your hamburger project under cloche... what a kitchen display that would be! Ask Nester where she thinks those would be properly displayed. Maybe she can work it into her next 10 steps to a Room you'll Love series. I think they belong in her "keeping room." Hahaha... MMM. DOUGHNUT. Good thing its an hours drive to get there for me. Because I was close to one in college, and INHALED those. I don't like other doughnuts, but I LOVE Krispy Kremes.

AAAAHHHH!! You are so funny! And I do love me the Krispy Kreme. When Sound Man and I went to Gatlinburg a couple of years ago I found a KK and the morning he had to go to a conference I went all by myself, saw the "Hot Donuts Now" sign lit up like a beacon of hope, and bought a dozen. It was surprising to me that, even though I had bought them for the entire weekend, 1/4 of them were gone before I even got back up to the cabin. Huh...wonder what happened? :)

Somehow after reading this I am compelled to go eat something sinfully tasty. SIGH. What could compare to a Krispy Kreme?
