Seasons of change...

In an instant, things change...
sometimes it catches you completely off guard,
and you embrace it with anticipation and excitement.
Thrilled with the knowledge and wonder that a mighty work has just begun,
you revel in the unexpected.
But many times, change is riddled with worry and discontent.
Pleading that the Lord would remove this change from our life, we long for the day that just moments ago seemed so ordinary. So typical.
Quite often, His timing is not ours.
We must wait on Him.
Deal with Him. Delight in Him.
Determine to choose Him...in the midst of change.
What we see as broken, He rebuilds, beautifies...
and fully restores...in His time.

"What the caterpillar calls the end of the world,
the Creator calls a butterfly."
Let the pruning begin...
Lord - I understand that change is the expression of your will.
I wait expectantly, and welcome all that you will reveal to me during this season of change.
Selah!

(all pictures taken while looking out my front window during this season of change...
the snow - yesterday. :)

The 5 am club....now that's a change. :)

Amen girl...I was sooo tempted to NOT turn my alarm on for tomorrow morning, but I treasured that time last week so much. I just HAVE to! Can't wait. Thanks for the pretty pics!

We're SNOOOWWWWWW jealous!!!!! Don't see that very much in WEST Tennessee!!! Wonderful post though. With all the economic change for so many - its a comfort to be reminded that God is in control. Hey- cool - I'm a 5:00 club member too!!!

What a beautiful post - not only with the words that were shared but the pictures as well.

I love your prayer at the end too. As hard as change can be, if we could only embrace it knowing that it is exactly what you said.. the expression of His will. He will never leave us, and one thing that can stay constant in our ever-changing lives is that He never changes. For that I am thankful.

I went and visited Sarah who is hosting the 5AM club. How fun! I am going to go back and add my name to join. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful photos and even more lovely thoughts. Isn't it awesome that we serve a God who helps us make those changes when we are willing?

Beautiful wisdom! Thank you.

Thank you for your words. Change is an idea that we all know in our heads, but have a hard time grasping with our hearts. I take comfort in our Lord, who is so much bigger than the chaos around us.

I have chills! This is incredibly beautiful. The photos and the words. Thank you so much for sharing your heart. We're enduring change and I think you words are ones I'll come back to read often in the next month or so!

As for the photos, amazing!! I live in the city, so out my window all I see are driveways and neighbors. I often long for a quiet spot ... the photos speak many words ...

That was beautiful! What a view - I'm not sure I would ever move from that spot.

I feel like change is coming in my life, too, and I HATE change. I know the Lord does not want us to stay in our comfort zone, but I sure do! : )

Beautiful pictures, by the way!

Gorgeous post, both in photos and words. And so fitting for me with all the changes going on in my life right now! I could be getting anxious but I have such a peace about this, knowing God is in control and I can delight in His plan!

Great post!

It reminds me of the Nicole Nordeman song "Seasons". Have you heard it? Its one of my favorites. Talks about the different seasons and the attributes of God that they show.
